The First Snow

The snow made a warm blanket
Without making a sound
Then it disappeared melting to the ground
Slowly, she faded
Turning to rain
Somehow she broke a smile
Before she softly said goodbye
She was the first snow, although you didn’t know
You didn’t want to know, until she had to go
And so she slipped away, abating like a drizzling mist
As the fog did lift
Her scent would somehow last forever …
Of copper teapots
Winter woolens
Blackstrap molasses
Comfort in dreams
Still she’d have to go away …
Slowly, she faded
Turning to rain
All creation was cleansed to bloom again

Virginia Trip

Lots of driving between Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut. Mass, Vermont, and NH this week. So happy to be home again … Thank you for the Prayers. The scenery was gorgeous and my favorite part of the landscape was the cattle ranges and the horse farms dotted along the roadsides. The pace is slower down there. Met a lot of nice people. I liked the sound of my guitar in the church. Singing How great Thou Art and the Hymns was humbling. Hearing all the Family stories and My Son Daniels Sermon depicting the strength of his Great Grandmother was so moving and quite an honor. K

Thank You Lord for This New Day

Thank you Lord for this new day
You are my light and my salvation
Your word is a lamp unto my feet
And a light unto my path
You see all that is before me
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
You are here beside me so I shall not fear
Be my guide to shine for you

May your day be filled with love and blessings galore k

My Strength Comes from the Lord

My strength comes from The Lord. This old Woman and her guitar have traveled long and winding roads for many a year through good times and bad, happy and sad. She was carried on the wings of mercy to and fro, with a heartfelt song and an ear to hear. She discerned what was exigent through humility, and love, compassion and empathy. You see Wisdom makes a home for understanding; knowing that it’s only through the Journey that we become exponentially strong. Kg.
