I saw a mourning dove today
Faintly break the gray
A barely distant February
Not quite March or May
Was she waiting for someone?
No echo to be heard
I always thought they came and bared
As mourning doves in pairs
And all the whispers whistled
And all the candy cooed
As all the best lay waiting
A mourning dove doth woo
