Love Instilled

Felt the cold, seek warmth and light
Through pain within my hands
Felt it to my bones and back
What pressure could not stand

Leaking through the barricade
A crack down musty halls
A needed push, a light brigade
Bore up its’ swollen walls

Yearning for the freedom trail
Exposed, the darkened stall
Favor of the chides returned
Deepened with the awl

Prayer and trust to break and thaw
These walls of ancient years
A persistent song of love and hope
Softened by the tears

A perfect time a perfect place
A miracle of God’s will
Each n’er knowing the other side
Till pride met love instilled
